Today I enjoyed Rayman Revolution gameplay by
Haruka (she's our only hope there) and noticed that, besides background porn, the design of Ly is changed. So I decided to see how different she is in all the 3D versions of Rayman 2.
I took two screenshots of her, first - when she talks to Rayman about Globox' escape, and second - a closeup when she rises her head right after the freeing.
Let's see what we have:
1.
PC version is the main one, a standart for all other games. Here's you can see the spherical Ly in a vacuum, with her signature blue hair, green lipstick, yellow stripped jumpsuit and slanting eyes. Talking about the game I'd like to notice the dark, heavy atmosphere at any level especially if you didn't change settings. Other games have more light and details, but in R2:TGE the main hero, besides Rayman, is the dark air covering corners and walls around you, making you to imagine that kind of exterior what you want.
2.
Sega Dreamcast as is, there's no real difference. Let's think that dusty colors and slightly flattened Ly's head are depended on with monitor calibration. According the
RayWiki article DC version has reworked graphics so maybe that's the reason of changes.
3. Somebody please call 911, here's stunning
Japanese version. Ly's got new face, suit, name. Notice eyebrows, girly pink lips and seductive sight; her pupils are giant and seem to be green, and ears are not so pointed, but all this unexpected beauty is on old mech (compare with DC). What do people think about her new look? Let
Youtube to show you.
4.
Playstation 2 version looks very similar at the first sight, but it is not. Check out the new mech. Ly's jaw is more massive, lips are really wide and she's not smile anymore. Despite the appeared snub nose she looks like a very serious bucket. From the other side, she's got fingers (yay), her limbs are finally all together and her voice has some dirty intonations. The debauchery is in watcher's eye, but
look for some justice by yourself.5. And
Playstation version at the very end because of it's dissimilaruty. Here's some lack of poligones that suddenly made Ly cute. She's got bigger cheeks and her forehead become narrow, the top part of her nape decreased and hair has some style. Honestly, if only this design was more detailed, it would be my favorite.
Summing up, LY's not really changed from game to game (not including Japanese version), but some little improvements are. But seriouly, if only Japanese version would be my first Rayman game I bet I didn't like that
P.S. not sure but think that this soundtrack from R3:HH contains oh my Polocus fairy vocal. Even it's name, Out of control,
is slightly yay.
